Yale Deal - Part 11

From the Yale Daily News: ...Two digital billboards appeared alongside stretches of Interstate 91 and Interstate 95 in New Haven decrying Yale’s settlement talks with the Trump administration. The digital billboards, which are 14 feet tall and 48 feet wide and went live on Aug. 10, display the message “Yale is failing intro to ethics by cutting a deal with Trump” alongside a circled red “F.” They were purchased by Indivisible, a national advocacy group whose aims include defending against the Trump administration’s attacks on higher education, according to its website.

The group is hoping to raise awareness about Yale’s negotiations with the Department of Justice as students return to campus this fall, according to Indivisible’s National Advocacy Director Andrew O’Neill. Yale College, Yale School of Medicine and Yale Law School are under federal investigation for allegedly discriminating against white and Asian applicants. The University has proposed at least two offers to the Justice Department amid settlement negotiations...
