BruinADVISORY: UCPD Training Exercise on Campus August 17–21
Bruin Community,
UCLA community members are advised that the UCLA Police Department will conduct a planned training exercise from Monday, August 17, through Friday, August 21, during daytime hours at Sproul Cove.
During the exercise, community members in and around Sproul Cove and the Sproul Turnaround may see uniformed personnel moving through the designated training area and buildings while participating in simulated response scenarios. The training will also include the sound of simulated gunfire.
This is a controlled training exercise only. There is no threat to the UCLA community, and no action is required.
The exercise is intended to provide UCPD personnel with realistic, hands-on training and strengthen their preparedness to respond effectively during an actual emergency. Training activity will be limited to the designated area during the scheduled times.
People who are not participating in the exercise are asked to follow posted signs and directions near the training location. UCPD will continue providing normal public safety services to the campus community throughout the training period.
Please do not be alarmed if you see or hear activity associated with the exercise. We appreciate the community’s understanding as UCPD conducts this important preparedness training.
Sincerely,
Office of Campus & Community Safety
