From Inside Higher Ed: California Governor Jerry Brown on Sunday vetoed legislation that would
have required colleges and universities in the state to have minimum
punishments for those found by the institutions to have engaged in rape
or forcible sex acts. In those cases, suspension for two years would
have been required. Proponents of the law pointed to cases where
students found responsible for such acts received far lighter
punishments...
