In recent years, there have been concerns and complaints that UC has fewer friends in the legislature. In the good old days, it was said, members of the legislature were often UC grads, but that is less so today.
As it happens, the new majority leader in the state assembly IS a UCLA grad. Isaac Bryan recently was elected to that post (not to be confused with the speaker of the assembly post).
