Steve Dubinett - dean of the UCLA med school - and Sam Hawgood - chancellor of UC-San Francisco - testified yesterday at the House Committee on Education & Workforce. The topic was DEI in medical education. Both defended their institutions, but both acknowledged problems that had arisen in particular courses at their campuses. Both indicated the courses referenced had been replaced and that the new versions were in compliance with appropriate standards, would be given only by campus faculty, and would comply with university rules limiting use of courses for unrelated purposes.
