The Regents' Health Services Committee met last Tuesday. During public comments, speakers referred to layoffs, nurse staffing, the Hawaiian telescope, bicycles, and mandatory vaccinations. EVP Carrie Byington reported on the coronavirus and UC Health. During the discussion, Regent Makarechian noted that the different campuses' health system used different accounting systems so that it was not possible to compare one with the other in terms of financial results. Big buck million dollar+ salaries were approved. There was a general presentation on pandemics around the world. The state legislative and budgetary situation was discussed for UC Health.
