Special UC Programs in This Year's Budget

The Legislative Analyst's Office (LAO) at this time of year typically prepares a review of the enacted state budget. There is no new news for UC in this summary but the table above points to some programs that the legislature funded and about which you may not have heard. The LAO's review is at:

It is worth noting that of these funds the bulk of them go to UCOP's nebulous entrepreneurialism initiative (which apparently necessitated a new Senior Vice President) as opposed to the initiatives doing socially or publicly important research. It gives a sense of misplaced priorities.
