Radio Silence on Accellion Breach - Part 2

We continue to get information about what WE should do or not do with regard to the Accellion data breach, but not much information on what anyone else is doing about it.

From an email circulated yesterday:

Dear Bruin Community:
Last week, you received a message from the University of California Office of the President about a data breach affecting the UC community, which includes information about how to sign up for free credit monitoring and identity theft protection. We strongly urge you to sign up for the free service and review these newly released answers to frequently asked questions (Spanish version is available on UCnet (PDF)) that offer more information about what you can do to protect your personal information.
The UC Office of the President has also established a dedicated email account where members of the UC community can ask questions: communications@ucop.edu. We urge you to use that resource if you have any additional questions.
Please be assured that the UC Office of the President is working closely with local and federal law enforcement on this matter. If you receive any suspicious email that is not from a recognized UCOP or UCLA address, or phone calls about this incident, please report it to us via security@ucla.edu. Do not click on any links, do not reply to the sender or provide any personal information over the phone. Your data security is important to us and please know that we are committed to sharing the latest information and resources with you as soon as they are available.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Beck
