Three days ago, we asked in a blog post whether there was any embarrassment at UC-Berkeley over hosting a fundraising party where the guest of honor was the former head of the California Public Utilities Commission. He is under all kinds of investigations for shady dealings. It is likely that the event was initially arranged before all the messy news items came out. Still, it might have been painful to discover, after the fact, what was going on at the CPUC.
