UC's Speak Up for Science campaign

Colleagues and friends,

In the face of multiple federal threats facing the University of California right now, UC Office of the President has launched the Stand Up for UC campaign:

which encourages people to pledge their support for UC and publicly share their stories:

about how UC has positively affected their lives.

We greatly appreciate your help in elevating this time-sensitive effort. We will continue to evaluate where things are and will be in touch if the situation changes.

focuses on rebuilding federal support for U.S. research and innovation and sustaining long-term investments in the federal science agencies that fund more than half of all UC research. Like Stand Up for UC, this is an ongoing campaign.

The Speak Up for Science campaign will kick into high gear at the beginning of September when Congress is focused on federal fiscal year (FY) 2026 funding decisions. Congress is considering a budget request that would slash funding for the federal science agencies by as much as 50% in the coming year — an amount that would devastate UC’s research enterprise...
