Still no sign of recession - at least based on new weekly claims for unemployment insurance in California. We are still in pre-pandemic (boom) territory by this measure. The next UCLA Anderson Forecast is due out on June 7. As blog readers will know, recent Forecasts have provided two scenarios: recession and no recession. Of course, before we get to June 7, we may have a federal debt-default drama.
