Prof. Michael Meranze pointed me to a piece in
Inside Higher Ed which begins with,"
An Illinois Senate report will be released today blasting the 'fantasy
world of lavish perks' for presidents of public colleges and
universities." See
https://www.insidehighered.com/quicktakes/2015/05/22/report-blasts-fantasy-world-presidential-benefits. It got me to thinking about what Jonathan Swift might propose as a solution. And the solution became obvious: Limit all perks to $117,020. Or, as Swift might say, "Would you like fresh PEPRA on your perks?" But then again, there is something in the Bible about the race not going to the swift.
